River levels are rising in Paris amid fears of a calamitous once-in-a-century flood that will leave much of the city submerged.

The River Seine reached levels of over 18ft this morning and continued to rise into the evening.

Paris authorities have closed several stations, roads, tunnels, parks, and the bottom floor of the Louvre Museum as precautionary measures.

MIRYANG, Corea del Sur (Reuters) – Una vez famosa por una película premiada del mismo nombre, la ciudad surcoreana de Miryang se convirtió en una escena de horror el viernes cuando llamas y humo tóxico barrieron un hospital, matando al menos a 37 personas y hiriendo a más de 140.

El jefe de bomberos Choi Man-woo dijo a los periodistas que aún no se conocía la causa del incendio.

Choi agregó que el incendio comenzó alrededor de las 07:30 hora local (22:30 GMT del jueves).

Treinta y siete personas murieron y más de 40 resultaron heridas en un incendio en un hospital en Miryang, provincia de Gyeongsang del Sur, la madrugada del viernes,  dijeron bomberos.

El fuego más mortífero de Corea del Sur en casi una década siguió un mes atrás que mató a 29 personas, reavivando la preocupación por los estándares de seguridad,                                     ya que el director del hospital dijo que la ley actual no requería que el edificio tuviera un sistema de riego.
